KBR is looking for an Operations Lead to support the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) team.   LRO is a NASA robotic spacecraft currently orbiting the moon in an eccentric polar mapping orbit.  LRO data is essential for planning NASA’s human and robotic missions to the Moon.  This position is within the LRO Mission Operations Team (MOT).

US citizenship required.

Responsibilities:

Monitor the health and safety of the LRO spacecraft and ground systemMonitor real-time activities and transmit daily loads to LRORespond to, identify, and investigate spacecraft and ground anomaliesWrite and maintain daily operations records – daily blogs, activity requests, engineering changes, etcDaily mission planning activitiesDaily trending and data analysis activitiesPerform verification testing using the LRO Spacecraft Simulator for all off-nominal activities prior to use on the spacecraftBe the MOT resident expert in a specified spacecraft subsystem and science instrument

The LRO Operations Lead will:

Work off-nominal hours during special operations and anomalies as required

Required Certification: Ops Lead certification

Required Education/Experience:

B.S. in engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer sciences5 + years of experience in spacecraft operations: real-time satellite console (command, control, and telemetry analysis)In lieu of formal education, 13 years of directly related work experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevailSelf-motivated; able to work autonomously, with minimal directionWorks well with a teamOperations certification

Desired Skills:

ITOS and STOL experienceExperience with data processing, flight dynamics and ground networksExperience with Ilog rule developmentSpacecraft subsystem/instrument performance analysis experienceWindows and Linux experienceC, BASH, PERL, and Python LanguagesXML and SQL databases
