The Vagelos Life Sciences & Management (LSM) Program Overview:
The LSM program is an undergraduate dual-degree program that integrates bioscience and business education. Each year, approximately 24 exceptional students enroll to earn both a Bachelor of Arts in a life science major and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School, preparing them for impactful careers in the life sciences sector.
Job Description
The Life Sciences and Management (LSM) Program Coordinator is one of two staff members responsible for managing the day-to-day, non-teaching operations of the LSM program, which serves over 90 undergraduate students. This role also maintains connections with over 320 alumni, approximately 30 Advisory Board members, various external guests, and key campus partners.
Working closely with the program director and faculty co-directors, the Program Coordinator plays a primary role in planning, coordinating, and executing programming and special events. They also serve as a key point of contact and resource for students, prospective students, alumni, faculty, staff, Advisory Board members, and distinguished guests associated with the program.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Program & Event Coordination
+ Plan, coordinate, and execute special events and programming
+ Oversee logistics for large-scale projects and initiatives
+ Continuously evaluate and refine processes to enhance efficiency
+ Operations & Administrative Support
+ Provide full support to LSM faculty and Fellows for the year-long LSM Capstone course
+ Participate actively in the admissions process
+ Ensure smooth execution of University business procedures and system
+ Communication & Engagement
+ Serve as the primary liaison with campus partners, alumni, and external stakeholders
+ Deliver exceptional customer service to all program affiliates
+ Design presentation materials and manage program-related communications
+ Technology & Website Management
+ Maintain and update the program’s website
+ Learn and use various software for business purposes
+ Strategic Contributions (as needed)
+ Offer input on the program’s long-term direction and initiatives
Qualifications
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting undergraduate students. Ideal candidates will have:
+ A bachelor’s degree and at least two years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal, to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
+ A proven ability to manage large projects from inception to completion, ensuring smooth execution and impactful results.
+ A demonstrated commitment to accuracy and consistency, ensuring attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
