Quanex is looking for a Lumber Grader to join our team in St Cloud, MN, Greenville, PA, or Bowling Green, KY.

Shift: Day Shift

Pay: $22 - $27 an hour

In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and grading lumber in accordance with NHLA grading rules.

What Success Looks Like:

Grades lumber manually by inspecting each board and documenting quality and quantity. Monitors product constantly to ensure that quality standards are being met, and rejects product that does not meet quality standards. Participates in the decision as to which loads of lumber shall be inspected. Operates the infeed controls of the green system. Inspects board on the green system and enters results in the computer. Completes grading reports thoroughly and accurately and submits reports to the supervisor. Follows all safety procedures, rules, and guidelines; and notifies the supervisor of any existing or potential safety issues. Follows all standard operating procedures and notifies the supervisor of potential procedural improvements. Perform other duties as assigned

Your Credentials:

· High school education or equivalent.

· Minimum 1 year of lumber grading experience; manufacturing environment preferred.

· Must have knowledge of hardwood lumber grades

· Math skills, including reading tape measure, digital calipers and converting fractions to decimals.
