This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join the Lunar Fluids and Propulsion Group as a Vehicle Lead.  In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to lead the development and delivery of high-performance Fluids and Propulsion subsystems for our Lunar vehicles. The Vehicle Lead is individually accountable for the Fluids and Propulsion scope for a given vehicle, inclusive of requirements, technical performance, schedule, and budget.  On an individual contributor basis, the Vehicle Lead will direct the day-to-day efforts of a talented and diverse group of Fluids and Propulsion professionals to deliver for our customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Lead Fluids and Propulsion vehicle team to deliver high-performance fluids and propulsion subsystems for one of our Lunar vehiclesPrimary Fluids and Propulsion interface for the Vehicle Program leadership teamDefine, specify, and develop hardware to meet mission objectives and satisfy requirements while balancing cost, schedule, and risk. Drive the design, analysis, delivery, and testing of Fluids and Propulsion subsystems. Create effective plans that achieve desired results and adhere to important performance metrics. Collaborate with diverse teams to ensure flawless execution of projects.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, aerospace, or chemical engineering; or equivalent 10+ years of experience with cryogenic fluids and propulsion systems, subsystems, and related components 5+ years of experience in program and project management Demonstrated track record of delivering results for customers in fast paced, technically demanding environmentsResource management experience, including budget and headcount demand planningExcellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to adapt and excel in a changing, growing environment Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Compensation Range for:

CA applicants is $162,465.75-$227,452.05;CO applicants is $153,839.25-$215,374.95;WA applicants is $162,465.75-$227,452.05
