Lunar Vehicle Build Integration Lead

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, focusing on the Blue Moon lander product lines. We are building sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface to advance our mission.

In this role you will lead spacecraft build integration efforts for one of Blue Origin’s Lunar vehicles on the Integration and Test (I&T) team. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of spacecraft integration and test by collaborating with cross-disciplinary engineers, technicians, customers, Blue Origin teammates, Lunar Lander National Team partners, and facility operators across the USA. You will act as the primary program point of contact for the operations team in planning and executing spacecraft final assembly and test during I&T. This leadership role works directly with the Director of Integration and Test and requires big dreams and excellent communication. With your help, humanity will have a permanent presence on the moon!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assess Master Equipment List (MEL), Bill of Materials (BOM), and facilities to develop the overall final assembly solution for the spacecraftDevelop of high-level spacecraft assembly planning products including build flow for spacecraft major assembliesDevelop the final assembly and test portion of the integrated master schedule in coordination with I&T and other stakeholdersEngage directly with the operations team to ensure the build solution meets the needs of the programAct as primary program point of contact for the operations team for vehicle final assembly effortsOversee and support build operations on the factory floorCollaborate with material resource planning, production planning and control, manufacturing engineers, tooling engineers, project managers, and technicians to drive results

Minimum Qualifications

Experience planning and executing aerospace manufacturing and assembly operationsExperience leading a team of engineersFamiliarity with aerospace industry manufacturing methods and standardsFamiliarity with the Test Like You Fly assessment and exception processExcellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environmentTypically 8 or more years of experienceAbility to travel as needed to support I&T planning and executionAbility to support odd hours and long weeks during build executionAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionBachelor's Degree in EngineeringMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience on NASA programs and human spaceflight programsExperience leading system-level I&T campaigns on large spacecraftExperience defining, designing, and/or operating spacecraft ground support equipmentExperience with scripting (Python or other scripting language)Experience with project planning, project controls, scheduling, MRP, manufacturing, final assembly, aerospace, quality engineering standards, cleanroom processes
