Responsibilities
As our Lymphedema Therapist at Marian Regional Medical Center, you will provide patients with hands-on, personalized care to help them build up strength after surgery, injury, or illness. Your critical and creative thinking coupled with access to our advanced equipment and techniques allows you to provide patients with wide range of solutions to address their complex rehabilitation needs.
Our team of Lymphedema Therapists utilize a non-invasive program known as Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) to treat lymphedema. This combination treatment includes manual lymph drainage, compression bandaging, meticulous skin care, decongestive exercises, and self-care training. You will also serve as a resource in obtaining long term day and night compressive garments for new patients, and with re-ordering for patients familiar with the process. Our Lymphedema therapy team is made up of multiple therapist with a wide range of experience. In conjunction with our cancer center, our Lymphedema therapy teams meets to present case studies, problem solve, and collaborate to ensure our patients receive the highest quality care. Our team provides education and support to our community and works with a local non-profit group to ensure patients have access to lymphedema care.
To be successful in this role, you need to possess good interpersonal skills and have the ability to interface with physicians and communicate verbally and in writing a patient's deficits and need for PT services.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Master's Degree in Physical TherapistExperience in Lymphedema treatment and techniques or Certified in Lymphatic Studies preferred. Active Physical Therapist license in good standing with the Physical Therapy Board of California or eligible to obtain.Current American Heart Association CPR Certification (CPR-AHA)Special Skills:
