Overview As the Global Communications M&A Integration Lead, you will oversee multiple global and divisional communications workstreams and define the timelines, deliverables, and risks for integration. You will drive accountability by providing regular reports to leadership from project kick-off to completion and ensuring the successful completion of each deliverable on time. In this role you will play a key part in the successful integration of merger partners including a smooth transition, understanding of Gallagher’s culture, and the continued growth of Gallagher. Additionally, this role will work in parallel to develop the global Center of Excellence for M&A Communications. Key to this role will be building relationships across global and divisional Marketing, Brand, and Corporate Communications – in addition to the broader M&A team, global functional teams and merger counterparts to become a trusted advisor and energize teams with regular updates on the progress of our high-priority communications. This includes a pre-close, close, and post-close plan that concludes with divisions leading the “business as usual” communications when ready. How you'll make an impact Global Communications Planning & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive global communication strategies that align with organizational goals and M&A objectives – and create a consistent experience at the global and divisional level Create and handle content for various communication channels, ensuring consistency and clarity in messaging. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of communication plans. Monitor and adjust communication strategies based on feedback and changing business needs. Divisional Communications Plans & Consulting: Serve as the primary liaison between divisional and global communication teams to ensure alignment and integration of plans. Facilitate the review and approval process for divisional communication strategies, ensuring they are consistent with global objectives. Provide consulting and support to divisional teams to enhance their communication efforts and ensure consistency with global messaging. Communications Operations Management: Collaborate with the Global MarComms Integration Lead and Global M&A Integration Lead to synchronize global and divisional communication plans and broader integration plans. Share insights and updates to relevant communication leads to ensure informed decision-making and alignment to a broader plan. Oversee the operational aspects of communication initiatives, ensuring efficient processes and resource allocation and best use of communication resources. Establish M&A CoE for Comms: Design and implement a structure for a Center of Excellence (CoE) to support ongoing M&A communication needs. Develop processes and best practices for communication throughout the M&A lifecycle, including pre-deal, close, and post-deal phases. Ensure the CoE provides consistent, high-quality communication support to facilitate successful integrations and transitions. Provide counsel on communication best practices and identify opportunities for Communications teams to work even more efficiently and effectively in planning, executing, and delivering key projects with the divisions. Metrics & Feedback: Develop and lead a system for tracking communication channel metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies. Gather feedback from stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in communication efforts. Analyze data to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and make data-driven decisions to enhance future messaging. Use insights to refine communication plans and enhance engagement and impact. Other duties: Gain a detailed understanding of Gallagher's global and divisional operations, including communication priorities, and identify opportunities to implement a standardized delivery approach that enables high-quality deliverables on time. Partner with global and divisional leaders to clearly define objectives, key deliverables, timelines, review-approval processes, and success metrics. Provide a transparent and transferable approach for communications planning and implementation that drives employee engagement for both Gallagher and the merger partner, ensuring high-quality work, two-way communication, and informed leadership. Handle Marketing and Communications vendors as required, ensuring they align with the overall communication strategy and deliverables. Actively measure, monitor, and report on communications activities, milestones, dependencies, status, and issues/risks, providing insights for continuous improvement. Communicate updates regularly to project teams, stakeholders, and leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the integration process. Support Gallagher’s Marketing and Corporate Communications leadership in driving success by providing strategic insights and recommendations for enhancing communication effectiveness. About You Required: Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience required. Highly Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or related field. Must have a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive communications experience in a corporate environment. Shown ability to balance multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communicator, experience presenting plans to senior leaders Advanced proficiency in M365 tools, including MS Office suite, Project, Teams, and SharePoint. 5 years of M&A experience, ideally within the communications function Experience leading within a Marketing, Brand, and/or Corporate Communications organization Experience working in the insurance industry Behaviors: Highly motivated, creative, and collaborative self-starter who can articulate the goals of effective communication and deliver and engage cross-functional teams to bring those outcomes to life. Strong organizational and relationship-building skills to manage multiple priorities, lead cross-functional teams, and adapt to changing requirements and environments with limited oversight. Ability to communicate complex processes to all levels of leadership, aligning communication style to the needs of the stakeholder. Adaptability and demonstrated ability to quickly shift gears from developing strategy & plans to dealing with operational matters. Excellent presence and ability to build professional relationships at all levels of the organization, as well as drive impact without direct authority. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
