The Comprehensive Pain Management and Spine clinic, is now hiring an organized and efficient Medical Assistant to work at our clinic located inside the Boise Regional Medical Center!
Position Summary & Highlights:This MA position will support a new provider in a fast-paced high-volume clinic.
Our Comprehensive Pain and Spine Program requires specialists that treat the whole person and not just their pain.
Our unique brand of pain management includes physical therapy, injections, nutrition, exercise, relaxation, stress management, and biofeedback techniques.
We help patients take an active role in controlling their own pain, beyond the effects of the drugs. We focus on facilitating the achievement of the best possible patient outcomes.
What You Will Do:In addition, to typical MA duties, you will collect medical history, collect urine tox screens, and patient education.
You will also help with chart prep, referral review, conduct prior authorizations, schedule procedures, respond to telephone calls/MyChart messages from patients, and cross train with front office staff.
Since the position is located in the hospital you will be on your feet more than a typical clinic environment, at least 2 days a week as the other 2 days are procedure days and will be admin days.
An ideal candidate for this position has high compassion for patient care, is a motivated self-starter, highly organized and efficient, dependable, and a team player.
You will also have an interest in the spine and nerve field, and helping others who can present with more challenging diagnosis.
Work Schedule:
40 hours per week, 4 - 10 hour days, Mondays - Thursdays, Fridays off.

Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent required.
MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
American Medical Technologists (RMA)
National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
Completion of either 6 months MA experience or completion of 100-hour MA externship is required even with MA certification.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
*Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details. EMT or CNA certification does not count towards an MA certification.
