Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients. The MA will assist the provider throughout the clinic with various duties such as RX verification, appointment follow-ups, and patient chart maintenance. This role is essential in ensuring smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care.
ResponsibilitiesServe patients over the phone with RX verification and appointment follow-up.Occasionally handle scheduling responsibilities.Prepare and maintain patient charts, including insurance, registration, correspondence, laboratory and radiology reports.Track and request patient records, slides, and films; document as necessary in the charts.Schedule and coordinate appointments, scans, and tests; confirm appointments and notify appropriate departments of daily and weekly patient schedules.Receive incoming calls to assist patients, physicians, and others with patient-related matters.Relay diagnostic test results to patients per physician's discretion.Conduct follow-up phone calls to patients with problems and \"no-shows\".Perform BP, TPR, and weight measurements on each patient; alert physician of any abnormalities.Complete medical history on each patient prior to being seen by the physician.Maintain medical supplies in each exam room and office supplies in clerical areas.Essential SkillsMA licenseBLS CertifiedExperience with triage and medical recordsProficient in Telehealth servicesAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience as a triage nurse or phone nurseStrong communication skillsAttention to detailWork Environment
