The Cancer Institute is now hiring for a team-oriented and compassionate CNA or Medical Assistant to work in the Chemo Infusion clinic!

Position Summary & Highlights

This position will support the Chemo Infusion clinic with patient scheduling and other clinical support duties at the Cancer Institute.

What You Will Do:

You will coordinate and partner with the clinical care team to help support patient care in the Chemo Infusion clinic.

This will include chemotherapy infusion scheduling, restocking exam rooms, cleaning patient area, assist patients with moving within the clinic, rooming and taking vitals, and assisting nurses with patient care.

You will also work a lot on the computer including items in the work queue, scheduling new patients, scheduling patients for procedures, related appointments, and follow up visits and complete related paperwork.

An ideal candidate will be motivated, proficient, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable and enjoy a fast-paced environment.

You will have strong experience with EPIC and knowledge of orders.

You will also desire being part of a strong team and enjoy connecting with patients and developing relationships with them.

Work Schedule:

40 hours/week, 5 - 8 hour days, Mondays - Fridays, around the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Clinic start and end time can vary based on providers schedule.

This position will NOT work weekends or major holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

American Medical Technologists (RMA)

National Healthcare Association (CCMA)

National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)

Completion of either 6 months MA experience or completion of 100-hour MA externship is required even with MA certification.

Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

*Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details. EMT or CNA certification does not count towards an MA certification.
