Job Description

Amcor is currently searching for individuals to join our Shelbyville - Liquids production plant!

SHIFT AVAILABLE:

Lamination Asst: 2-2-3 12-hour Straight Nights, 7:00-7:00!

Every other weekend off!

STARTING PAY:

Press Assistants - $18+/hour - Based on skillset and experience!

Lamination Assistants - $18+/hour - Based on skillset and experience!

Slitter Assistants -  $18+/hour - Based on skillset and experience!

Plus $1.50 night shift premium!

WHAT PRESS ASSISTANTS GET TO DO

Prepare inks, substrates, plates, cylinders, gears, etc. for scheduled job.Assist Press Operator in monitoring the product to ensure quality.Knowledge and ability to perform make-readies.Participate in the operation of the press with the ability to operate if needed.Order, Charge, and Return raw materials to each job as needed.Complete necessary daily paperwork.Complete 5S/housekeeping logs.Follow and be held accountable for adherence to all of the company policies and procedures as they are outlined and defined.Remove and identify all scrap except flying splices before master rolls get moved to WIP areaAll other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor and/or Management

WHAT LAMINATION ASSISTANTS GET TO DO

Support Laminator Operator in setting up and operate the machine if operator is absent (cross train)Transport laminated, raw material, and printed material throughout the warehouse using forklift.Break down raw material or film from skids to be loaded on to machine.Use mechanical lift to load/unload printed and laminated rolls on and off machine and adjust shaft for recommended core size.Able to manipulate controls and use of dial indicators on machine.Prepare materials that coincide to the production schedule and work order.Keep track of raw materials at plant for production so machines do not run out.Label all finished and return to stock material accurately.Maintains cleanliness in work area during shift and shift transitions.

WHAT SLITTER ASSISTANTS GET TO DO

Follows safe operating procedures and complies with all EHS and GPM guidelines to ensure that only the highest safety standard is maintained.Performs tasks within acceptable limits for quality, quantity, sanitation, and timeliness of completion, paying particular attention to prevent and eliminate costly errors.Meets Company’s attendance requirements, including timely reporting of absence and working overtime, as requested.Maintains daily production quotas.Reads and understands work orders.Sets up and work towards the operation of one or more slitting machines, core cutting machine or rewind machine to cut rolls of stock to specifications and wind or rewind as necessaryChecks and inspects material received from prior operations to verify accuracy and conformance to specifications on Sales Order FormComplies with sanitation guidelines and good manufacturing practices related to neatness, product cleanliness and personal hygiene.Maintains a neat and orderly work area, in accordance to 5S Standards, by cleaning spills and disposing of trash on a timely basis.Performs basic operator preventative maintenance to machines and/or toolsComplies with Company policies and performing other duties as assigned

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability read, understand, and follow customer specificationsExperience in manufacturing environment preferred.Forklift experience preferredMust have basic computer skills to complete tasks in operator softwareRequired to have visual acuity to perform visual inspection including the use of measurement devices and ability to identify and distinguish colors
