This role is for a ML Engineer (Sr Consultant level) – Cloud AI Platform, with a strong development background, whose primary objective will be to extend our AI as a Service platform to the Public Cloud while enhancing, optimizing our existing codebase and development procedures, as well as developing new solutions. We are seeking for a strong tech leader and cloud architect with a solid background in public cloud and AI/ML production systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of hands-on technical knowledge and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and drive the team towards achieving our technical objectives. They should be hands-on, knowledgeable about cloud technologies, business drivers, and emerging AI/ML trends, and experienced with AWS and GCP services. The role demands a proactive leader who can guide the team through uncertainty, educate stakeholders, and influence decisions. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage complex projects and deadlines. A problem-solving mindset and a hands-on approach are key to succeeding in this role.

Essential Functions

Collaborate with project team members (Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Software Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure development and implementation of new data driven business solutions.

Drive development effort End-to-End for on-time delivery of high quality solutions that conform to requirements, conform to the architectural vision, and comply with all applicable standards.  Responsibilities span all phases of solution development.

Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved

Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.

Coaching and mentoring junior team members and evolving team talent pipeline.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• 4+ years of related hands-on experience in delivering robust and scalable solutions on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure, preferably in an AI/ML production environment.
• Expertise with IaC solutions (Terraform, CloudFormation etc.).
• Expertise in one or more of Golang, Java, Rust and C/C++.
• 5+ years of related experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, preferably in an AI/ML production environment.
• Expertise in cloud architecture and service offerings.
• Expertise in various cloud services such as compute, storage, databases, networking, AI, and machine learning.
• Experience in Cloud Big Data Services.
• Experience in Cloud AI/ML solutions and tools such as - AWS Sagemaker, Comprehend, GCP AutoML, AWS EKS, ElasticCache, CloudWatch
• Strong cloud security and best practices for cloud infrastructure management.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 157,100.00 to 227,900.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
