Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to safely and accurately machine quality custom materials for shipment.

What you will do:

Must be able to feed the front end of the machine and keep up with production.Must know the grades of all the profiles run at this machine center and be able to differentiate between acceptable and unacceptable quality and grade out unacceptable quality before feeding the wood through the machine or stacking it off at the back of the machine.Must know how to stack units properly and neatly with the appropriate pieces per unit as specified on the orders.Know how to read orders and spec sheets.Set-Up MachineSet-ups must be accomplished in a timely fashion and should not exceed 20 minutes.Only reject moldings are to be used for set-ups.Keep accurate daily paperwork. Learn to read and process orders on worksheets for cut detail, daily report amounts and initial.Observe all safety rules.The operator is responsible for the proper training of crew members and adherence to all safety rules and regulations.Use proper lockout/tagout procedures. This includes safely changing saw blades.Tie up finished units to be pulled and tagged properly.Grade material off the back of machine to appropriate customer specifications.Putty and paint repairs as necessary.Perform preventative maintenance of entire machine including lubrications.Keep the area clean and organized.Maintain production of 700 pcs per hour (80% efficiency)

What you will need:

Preferably one year experience in manufacturing settingHS Diploma or GED preferredAble to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Use a computer to read order specifications, update databases, and retrieve/update data as required.Ability to recognize defective material prior to processing in a timely manner.Able to accurately take measurements using a tap measure and calipers.Use hand tools, power tools, and saws in a safe and efficient manner.Ability to lift up to 35lbs, stand, bend, stoop, lift, and move throughout the shift.Exposure to normal factory environment: dust, heat, and noise. Candidate must be able to withstand heat more than 95 degrees.Must be able to add & subtract fractions and whole numbers and convert fractions to decimals.Ability to read, follow, and understand work instructions from both written and verbal sources and basic writing skills.Excellent attendance recordCommitment to your team members, self-motivation, and accountability to safety & quality.
