Machine Operator - 1st shift

Job Summary: The Machine Operator -- Fabrication I is expected to perform under the direction of the area supervisor, manufacture parts per plant specification in an accurate and timely manner utilizing a CNC Machining Center/Fabrication equipment while recognizing safety and efficiencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Position and secure work piece in machineMaintain a clean safe work areaAbility to read blueprints/Diagrams, tape measure by millimeters dial caliper and any other measuring instruments as needed.Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment.Previous experience with inventory control methods.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly handled, or touch objects, tools, or controls

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalentAn understanding of machining/fabricating fundamentalsAbility to perform reading, writing, and math functions.Ability to effectively communicateContributes to identifying problems and implementing appropriate countermeasures.Intermediate PC knowledge.Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office productsStrong problem solving and reasoning skillsAbility to interpret drawings, schematics and machine specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred experience on equipment and automation consistent with a metal fabrication, paint, and assembly operation.  Intermediate mechanical aptitude, ability to understand complex issues and systematically work toward resolution.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
