**Job Title: Machine Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Machine Operator to join our team. This role involves operating mills, lathes, and grinder machines, ensuring the accuracy of machine settings, and maintaining equipment according to safety and maintenance protocols. The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently as well as in a team environment and will be open to learning various roles within the machine shop. _They are willing to train entry-level candidates, so not a lot of specific experience is required! Just looking for manufacturing experience, mechanical aptitude, and a great attitude and eagerness to learn and advance!_ **Responsibilities** + Operate mills, lathes, and grinder machines. + Load or feed mechanisms by lifting stock into position. + Verify machine settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces. + Maintain specifications by observing the machine operation process and adhering to quality assurance procedures. + Ensure safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. + Complete preventive maintenance on equipment following manufacturer's instructions. + Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. + Document actions by completing production and quality logs as directed. + Cross-train and work in other departments as needed. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in machine operation, including CNC machines. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Experience with hand tools and mechanical troubleshooting. + Understanding of production and general labor procedures. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to run a machine independently and work in a team environment. + Willingness to learn all roles within the machine shop and work in multiple departments. + Flexibility to work on any shift as needed for first 720 hours (roughly 3.5 months). **Why Work Here?** We offer a great company culture with long-term management and excellent benefits. Cross-training to learn different skills, machines, processes, and departments! **Work Environment** Our foundry manufacturing environment currently operates 50-60 hours per week and is a union facility. Candidates must be open to working any shift, although we are currently hiring for the 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) with potential changes in the next few months. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toed shoes, hard hats, and ear and eye protection. Shift operations are as follows: 1st shift (6:30am-3pm or 7am-3pm), 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm or 3pm-11pm), and 3rd shift (11pm-7am). **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Chattanooga, TN. **Pay:** $18/hr for first 720 hrs, **_then it goes to $28.50/hr!_** **OT Pay:** 1.5x pay for anything over 40 hrs in a week, 1.5x pay for any hours worked on Saturdays, 2x pay for any hours worked on Sundays. **Shift:** train on 1st shift, then must be flexible to work any shift as needed for the first 720 hours, then it will likely be either 2nd or 3rd shift from that point on. **Schedule:** Monday-Friday with OT on weekends as needed. OT is mandatory during first 720 hrs, then only 16 hrs of OT is mandatory each month after that. **Weekly Hours:** probably about 50. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $37440.00/yr.
