**This position will work on 2nd/evening shift.**
The Entry Machinist is responsible for the successful operation of machines to produce quality parts for our Tennant products. In this role, you’ll use a variety of tools, mechanical instruments and techniques. If you are mechinally and technically inclined and pay close attention to details, then this is the role for you.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform at two brush manufacturing work cells Set up and operate machines at maximum efficiency rates while meeting productivity, quality and safety requirements. Inspect parts for conformance using measuring instruments (Pull Force gauge, Tuft weight scale) Fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments Read engineering blueprints, and measuring devices such as caliper, micrometer, and other gauges used in machining Recognize, communicate and document safety concerns
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent 6 months – 2 years machinist experience OR machinist certificate Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires standing 90% of shift Frequent bending, twisting, squatting and lifting with arms extended Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. Average part weighs 5 - 15 lbs. Requires good manual dexterity
ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:
Hearing and vision protection required in all areas Safety shoes required in all areas Exposure to oil, grease, dust, metal particles, sparks, sharp-edged materials
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Exposed to hazards/risks that require body protection (gloves, pants, steel toes, sleeves, safety glasses, etc.)
