**Job Title: Machine Operator 3rd Shift**
**Job Description**
Operate conventional, computer numerical control machines (CNC), and machining centers to machine metallic and nonmetallic parts to established specifications.
**Responsibilities**
+ Use blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, or other specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of workpieces, setup requirements, and sequence of operations.
+ Apply knowledge of machining theory and procedures to the operation of various types of equipment and processes.
+ Use specifications, dimensions, and tolerances to machine parts, and verify conformance of parts within one ten-thousandths of an inch.
+ Monitor processes to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
+ Initiate improvements to processes, parts, tooling, and equipment.
+ Work in a team environment to ensure continuous process and quality improvement.
+ Conduct preventive and corrective actions to assure continuous process and quality improvement.
+ Perform quality and self-inspection as per prints and process documentation, using drawings, fixtures, jigs, and measuring instruments.
+ Ensure established objectives are met.
+ Handle parts safely to avoid damage to the product.
+ Maintain accurate product and routing information.
+ Set up workstations ergonomically to avoid unnecessary movements and fatigue.
+ Actively participate in instructions and coaching on the use of jigs and set processes.
+ Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the workplace and surrounding area.
+ Perform routine machine maintenance as outlined in the maintenance procedure manual.
+ Keep the workplace safe and free of dangerous obstacles.
**Essential Skills**
+ 1+ years' experience in CNC machine operation
+ 1+ years' experience in manufacturing or production
+ Experience with lathe and mill operations
+ Proficiency in reading blueprints and machining
+ High School diploma or GED with related machine trade experience
+ At least 1-3 years of machining experience

**Work Environment**
This position operates in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. The role involves standing for up to six hours per day, with some duties requiring short periods of sitting. Must be capable of lifting 0-50 lbs. in a proper ergonomic position.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Binghamton, New York.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
