Machine Operator
Under direct supervision, operate machines used in production processes. Work from verbal or written instructions, diagrams, or models. Inspect machining operations and finished product against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools. Identify and escalate minor machine malfunctions. Perform simple routine maintenance and cleaning.

Essential Responsibilities
Work to continuously improve all areas of productivity and reduce scrap Submit and implement lean & safety suggestions. Operate machine tools to perform repetitive machining operations, such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, planning, honing, broaching, grinding or other machining operations many include basic set up processes. Verify dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring instruments. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery (e.g., cleaning). Produce quality parts in order to meet production goals. Perform quality checks as required. Complete all necessary documentation for each part. Identify “out of tolerance” parts and report any nonconformance. Perform Pre-flight inspections at the start of each shift and report any sub-standard conditions or hazards found to supervisor. Provide guidance and train incoming Machine Operators. Adhere to all H&S and environmental laws and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential Skills: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance standards. Ability to understand and follow directions given. Ability to work with minimal supervision Basic shop math. Attention to detail.

Interact with supervisors to take direction on job assignments, to seek clarification on unclear drawings or job instructions, and to seek help when problems arise. Ability to clearly communicate with other employees across departments and levels. Ability to work independently or with team. Ability to prioritize. Basic computer skills. Ability to learn new specifications and procedures through on-the-job training and experience.
