Minneapolis, Minnesota is the largest city in Minnesota, and borders up to the great Mississippi River. The Minneapolis site was built in 1935 and bought by GAF in 1936, and produces residential shingles for the Midwest and parts of Canada. Schedule:

12 Hour Shifts

6pm - 6am, 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off. No rotating shifts!



Pay:

$26.66/hr

Summary

The Machine Operator will ensure the production of high-quality commercial and residential roofing materials through accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of manufacturing processes to include machine operation, quality verification, packaging, housekeeping, and forklift operation.

Essential Duties

Responsible for safe operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and forklifts, and production and/or shipment of quality products.
Record and document all required data on the computer and/or in written form
Follow all safety, operational, maintenance, and housekeeping policies and procedures for the plant and your assigned department.
Complete product testing and inspections in accordance with product and quality specifications and alert supervisor to variations in the production process at all times.
Perform other duties related to plant operations as assigned.
VALUE AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE:

Experience in manufacturing concepts and safety practices and procedures is preferred but not required

A positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and a willingness to contribute to a continuous improvement environment

G.E.D/Diploma is preferred but not required!

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

To perform the essential functions of this role, you must be able to:
Stand for long periods of time
Climb ladders and stairs and use catwalks Bend at the knees and waist
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move 50 lbs. (or more with assistance)
Regularly push and pull objects, push carts, and other equipment. Hear alarm bells and communicate on radio/walkie talkies
Use color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and be able to adjust your depth of focus. Use hands and fingers to feel and handle objects, tools, controls panels, and products.
Wear and use required safety equipment, including safety glasses, steel-toe safety shoes, hearing protection, head protection, and gloves.
Must have ability to work in the U.S. without current/future need for GAF visa sponsorship.
