**Job Title: Machine Operator** **Job Description** You must be able to operate equipment efficiently, with minimum downtime. Properly communicate with ground storage and Making Operators with radios, telephones, etc. Basic knowledge of transfer cars and haulage systems is essential, along with a general knowledge of the Making area where bricks are mixed and molded. **Responsibilities** + Maintain a safe and clean work area to avoid personal injury and/or property damage. + Use proper safety equipment and procedures, including LO/TO. + Learn other jobs and fill in when needed. + Understand and use computers as they relate to the operation of the Setting Machine. + Use hand tools to adjust, repair, and perform preventative maintenance as needed. + Perform changeovers from one product to another properly. + Assist brick machine operator as needed. **Essential Skills** + Basic knowledge of transfer cars and haulage systems. + General knowledge of the Making area. + Ability to understand and use computers related to the operation of the Setting Machine. + Knowledge and ability to use hand tools for adjustments, repairs, and maintenance. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + HS Diploma / GED / Equivalent / 2-year certification. + Ability to undergo and complete in-depth safety training/orientation before the first day of work. + Capability to obtain onsite forklift certification, when applicable. **Work Environment** This is a brick masonry manufacturer. The environment is both inside and outside, and non-climate controlled. The role requires working independently in hot and cold conditions, with exposure to dirt, dust, and mud throughout the plant.
