**Machine Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator to oversee the extrusion process of plastic coating on bare copper wire. This position involves setting up machines correctly, monitoring raw materials, identifying and resolving issues, and performing periodic quality checks using various measuring tools. The role requires multitasking, adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintaining accurate documentation of production results. **Responsibilities** + Oversee the extrusion machine to coat bare copper wire with plastic. + Set up and adjust the machine using basic hand tools. + Monitor the flow and supply of raw materials. + Identify and resolve issues to ensure efficient product flow. + Perform quality checks using tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and gauges. + Follow a Master Sheet and Process Sheet to maintain production schedules. + Document production results on a computer. + Manage time effectively by moving between stations to load/unload spools and pull finished products. **Essential Skills** + Machine operating experience + Ability to follow specific instructions + Basic computer skills for documenting and tracking production + Attention to detail + Time management skills **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School Diploma or GED + Ability to follow basic written and verbal instructions + Prior production/manufacturing experience **Why Work Here?** This is a great opportunity for growth and learning new operations. The company manufactures copper cable/wire, and employees are required to wear safety-toed boots or shoes at all times. There is a dress code in place, and contractors work 12-hour shifts with breaks taken as a relief person rotates around.
