Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Production Technician for the efficient operation of our specialty chemicals plant. The role involves working with powdered chemicals used in the polymer making process, which is integral to plastics and waste water treatment plants. Candidates will start by shadowing other operators, documenting processes, and performing basic tasks. Once trained, the position requires ensuring the safe, environmentally sound, and efficient operation of the plant, which includes utilities, bulk storage, and warehouse management.
ResponsibilitiesOperate plant machinery and equipment including opening and closing valves, monitoring instrumentation panels, and reporting findings from gauges.Dump 10 kilo bags and larger into containers, and utilize basic math skills to track and monitor plant data.Follow procedures, climb ladders, and operate forklifts.Perform manual duties, lifting up to 50 lbs, and remain stationary for extended periods.Stay current on operating procedures, emergency procedures, safety, and policies.Move about the premises daily, often exposed to the elements and weather conditions.Perform independently on assignments and follow verbal and written instructions precisely.Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.Use forklifts, industrial scales, power tools, and hand tools, and perform maintenance on equipment as needed.Troubleshoot minor maintenance defects and demonstrate some electrical experience for instrumentation.Pass a physical, fit test, and pulmonary function test.Wear a full face respirator or Tyvek hood and Tyvek suit for 3-4 hours each day.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The clean room is air-conditioned, while the rest of the plant is not. The plant has multiple levels, requiring stair navigation throughout the day. The environment is highly technical, involving monitoring chemical processes and exposure to dry chemical materials. Typical conditions include exposure to dust, noise, fluctuating temperatures, and hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals. The role involves 8-hour rotating shifts: 7-3, 3-11, 11-7, Monday through Friday.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00
