Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting production equipment using appropriate tools and procedures. You will ensure that machines are operating according to procedures and are in good condition. You will communicate any machine malfunctions to the Team Lead or Maintenance and understand production requirements and schedules. Additionally, you will perform to machine goals, cross-train on various job functions within the production facility, and work effectively in a team environment. You will also direct, assist, and train helpers as necessary and perform other duties as assigned.

ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and adjust production equipment using appropriate tools and procedures.Keep machines operating according to procedures and in good condition.Communicate machine malfunctions with Team Lead or Maintenance.Understand production requirements and schedules with guidance from Team Lead.Perform to machine goals.Cross-train on various job functions within the production facility.Work effectively in a team environment.Direct, assist, and train helpers to perform necessary functions.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in machine operation and setup.Ability to troubleshoot and perform changeovers.Mechanically inclined.Ability to problem-solve.Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction).Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand for 8 or more hours per day.Ability to walk off and on for 4-6 hours per day.Ability to squat, bend, flex, and extend both arms.Ability to grasp with both hands for up to 8 hours per day.Ability to push carts of finished products and tools up to 75 lbs.Ability to pull tools and finished products up to 50 lbs.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in operating mainline machines.Ability to work in a loud and hot environment.Willingness to undergo extensive training.Dedication to continuous improvement and learning.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

You will work in a 74,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility with approximately 37 employees. The facility is non-climate controlled, loud, and hot. You will work with others in close proximity. Equipment and machinery include Punch Press, Brake Press, Turret Press, Packaging Equipment, Conveyors, Roll Forming Machines, Slitters, Lathe machines, End Mill Machines, Drill Presses, and Surface Grinders. The position is first shift.

This is a Contract position based out of O Fallon, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00
