Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

• Perform repetitive hand polishing and buffing operations on a variety of parts using prescribed wheels and abrasives.

• Set up polishing/buffing equipment; select proper wheels and abrasives. Change wheels and belts as specified.

• Load, process, and unload parts from a mechanical tumbling machine.

• Monitor tumbling media wear and replace per production schedule or as needed.

• Load, process, and unload parts from an automated sandblast machine.

• Monitor blasting media and replace per production schedule or as needed.

• Prepare finished parts for the next operation in the value stream and complete documentation for the work completed.

• Perform various preventive maintenance activities including daily inspection of equipment to identify and or prevent possible issues.

• Maintain disciplined 6S checklist routines to ensure a safe and clean working environment.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the production supervisor.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 5 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in North Haven, Connecticut.

Work Environment

• Standing - 8 Hours per day (or more)

• Walking - 6 to 8 Hours per day

• Lifting (below shoulder) – 30 to 50 lbs. – frequently

• Lifting (above shoulder) – 30 to 50 lbs. - frequently

• Push/Pull – 30 to 50 lbs. – frequently

• Stooping/kneeling/bending – 2 hours per day – occasionally

• Must be able to consistently operate a productivity machine for a minimum of 6 hours per day.

• Must be able to communicate and exchange information with other members of the organization verbally, nonverbally, and in writing.M

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.80
