Machine Operator
**Job Title: Machine Operator** **Job Description** Assists in line clearances between batches, changeovers, and follows cleanup sheet directions. Assists with troubleshooting of equipment and process issues. Maintains accurate, neat, error-free records such as line packaging records (LPR). Accurately follows production documents, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs). Monitors operations for deviations, quality risks, or mechanical problems and elevates issues as needed. Identifies safety, quality, and efficiency improvements and actively participates in learning organization development. Maintains a neat work area and follows department safety rules. Attends scheduled training as determined by the supervisor and completes annual training. Performs duties in other work areas as required. **Responsibilities** + Review batch paperwork and instructions to understand and perform packaging procedures required for the assembly of each clinical study. + Clean packaging rooms and machinery as needed (Clean room environment). + Perform manual and automated filling and packaging of blistered and bottled pharmaceutical products independently, while approving labeling and checking the quality of the process. + Perform and ensure proper labeling and drug placement using various secondary sealing machinery. + Accept or reject in-process clinical supplies according to acceptability standards determined by GMP, customer requirements, and SOP. + Assist and assemble both blinded (following a randomization schedule) and open clinical supplies ensuring proper label placement. + Accurately count out and prepare packages (pill bottles, syringe packs) to ensure proper packaging. + Perform final check of work in-process and finished products and then pack goods into appropriately labeled containers/boxes. + Assist in staging and reconciliation of components as required. **Essential Skills** + High School Diploma OR GED + Attention to Detail - A mistake on a label/packaging could be significant in this industry + Willing and able to work in a cold room as needed, with all PPE provided + Willing and able to work mandatory overtime as needed + Steel-toed shoes + Willingness to adhere to clean room PPE requirements: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, etc. allowed. Required PPE includes safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, hair nets, and beard nets. + Great Machine Operation Experience **Shift & Pay** + 2nd Shift - 2:45pm-1:30am (Monday-Thursday) + Overtime is currently not mandatory, but it is expected. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in a supportive and innovative environment. **Work Environment** ENVIRONMENT/COLD ROOM: + This position is in the pharmaceutical packaging department, which is a clean room environment + Full gowning, shoe covers, hairnet, beard net, and safety glasses are required at all times, with all PPE provided except for safety shoes and prescription safety glasses. + The role requires some time in a cold room environment (35-46 F), with appropriate cold weather PPE provided. INTERACTION: + This position involves internal contact with all production operation employees, engineering, inventory, and quality assurance personnel. + External contact is limited to client personnel observing packaging operations. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position located on the southwest side of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $27.50 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
