Job Description
This position is mainly responsible for the safe and efficient operation of process equipment and packaging equipment from start-up to shut-down for processing and packaging of food resulting in safe quality food for human consumption. The mixing and cooking of candy recipes may also be a part of this job.
ResponsibilitiesChange programs/parameters in chocolate tempering machines, depositors, enrobers, and various machines related to processing and packaging food.Assemble pipes, pumps, and kettle parts to be used for cooking/mixing candy recipes and other equipment related to the depositing, coating, and forming of various candy products, often using common hand tools.Follow recipes to weigh ingredients, use equipment to mix and cook, and use instruments to measure temperature, viscosity, and brix.Use PPE for various tasks related to cooking and operating equipment.Run machines, including old manual machines and newer computer-controlled machines.Perform set-ups and changeovers based on daily production requirements.Essential Skills2+ years of machine operating experienceProficiency in batching and food preparationExperience in packaging, food production, and machine operatingAdditional Skills & QualificationsAbility to follow recipes and measure ingredients accuratelyKnowledge of fractions and ingredient listsWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in a GMP regulated food manufacturing facility producing chocolate-covered nuts, candies, and other products for retailers such as Girl Scouts and Costco. The temperature in the factory generally varies from 67 to 85 degrees. Available shifts are 1st Shift from 5:30 am to 4:00 pm and 2nd Shift from 4:30 pm to 2:00 am, with a $2.00 premium for the second shift.

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $45760.00
