Job Title: CNC Machine Operator

Job Description

Operate steel beam and steel plate cutting equipment for punching holes, cutting designs, or cutting to size per customer orders. You must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints for large products, operate CNC equipment, manipulate programs on HMI, read a tape measure and other measuring equipment, and operate an overhead crane for material transport. Ideal candidates will have experience operating turn-style CNC mills and other CNC machinery. Training may be provided on saw operations, steel bending, and other large steel fabrication machinery.

ResponsibilitiesOperate steel beam and steel plate cutting equipment.Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.Operate CNC equipment and manipulate programs on HMI.Use measuring tools such as tape measures.Operate overhead cranes for material transport.Work effectively with a trainer and as part of a team to ensure safety and success.Learn and retain information based on the color-coding system for inventory management.Essential Skills3-5 years of CNC operating experience.3-5 years of manufacturing experience.1-2 years of heavy industry experience.Ability to read a tape measure.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (though most lifting is done by crane).Experience operating equipment safely in a heavy industrial environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in heavy industry or construction.Overhead crane experience.Experience with equipment such as forklifts, bobcats, band saws, and plasma cutters.Familiarity with machining, machine operation, and various measuring tools.Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.Why Work Here?

We offer competitive pay rates starting at $22 per hour with flexibility. Operators hired permanently will receive shares as part of an incentive program, potentially earning an additional $500-$1000 per month based on company performance. Opportunities for promotion to Lead roles are available, with potential earnings of $65k in the first year without overtime, and up to $80k with overtime. Work Environment

Work takes place both inside and outside, with steel stored in the building and in two separate yards. The environment can be very hot in summer and very cold in winter. Machine operations are inside, but steel burning causes sparks and loud noise. The facility has gravel and concrete flooring, with a large inventory of steel beams. This is a construction-like environment requiring hard hats, steel-toed boots, and safety vests.
