**Job Title: Machine Operator** **Job Description** Our company specializes in taking large coils of metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and steel, and using a crane to load them into machines that cut them into smaller coils or large sheets of metal. As a union shop, employees join the union after 90 days. **Responsibilities** + Operate machinery to cut large metal coils into smaller coils or sheets + Use a forklift and overhead crane to load and unload materials + Start by packaging products at the end of the machine and gradually learn to operate the machinery + Participate in the crating area to make crates for the products + Ensure no lifting over 50 lbs; anything heavier is handled by a team **Essential Skills** + Past experience in manufacturing + Willingness to work required hours + Comfortable working with large metal coils + Basic English knowledge (Bi-lingual is acceptable) **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with machine setup + Experience working with metal coils + Experience working for a Union **Why Work Here?** Starting pay is competitive with increases scheduled. Employees receive a bi-weekly GAIN SHARE bonus tied to machine productivity, a quarterly attendance bonus, and a quarterly safety bonus. **Work Environment** The facility has 30 production employees and is equipped with overhead cranes for loading coils into machines or onto trucks. Trucks drive into the facility for loading. Employees will work with machinery cutting large metal coils and participate in the carpentry shop for crate-making. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 11am to 7pm, with required shifts on Saturdays from 5am to 1pm or 7am to 3pm. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northbrook, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
