Job Description
Operate turret punch press to punch holes or layout marks in metal sheets, plates, strips, or bars, following charts that list machine settings for each cut. Insert, align, and lock punches and dies in the turret using tools such as hammers, shims, feelers, micrometers, and setscrews. Place workpieces on the table manually or by using a crane, align them to the scale and end gauge, and clamp them to the machine table.
ResponsibilitiesInsert, align, and lock punches and dies in turret using hammer, shims, feelers, micrometers, and setscrews.Place workpiece on table manually or by using crane.Align workpiece to scale and end gauge on machine and clamp it to machine table.Push button to turn turret to specified punch and die.Turn cranks to set indicator to specified dimension on forward and lateral machine scale.Press pedal to activate punch.Repeat operation for each machine setting specified on charts.Position center punch from turret to touch plate and turn crank to scratch layout lines.Compute punch charts from blueprints using square, scale, and applying knowledge of shop mathematics.Punch holes in nonmetallic materials as needed.Essential SkillsExperience with turret press and machine operation.Proficiency in reading blueprints and using measurement equipment.Knowledge of production and inspection processes.Skill in sheet metal fabrication and machine operating.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to read blueprints accurately.Competence in measuring and machine operating.Experience with turret press operation.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00
