Machine Operator

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to work in the cable manufacturing industry. The primary responsibilities will include operating rod mill machines and extruders, ensuring optimal machine performance, conducting preventive maintenance (PM), and assisting with the movement and loading of heavy materials.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Operate rod mill machines and extruders to produce cables and related products according to specifications.
+ Perform routine and preventive maintenance (PM) on machines to ensure optimal performance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
+ Assist in the physical loading of heavy materials into machines and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
+ Monitor production quality and adjust machine settings as necessary to meet product specifications.
+ Support troubleshooting and maintenance tasks as needed, working with maintenance teams to resolve issues.
+ Maintain detailed logs of production runs, maintenance activities, and material usage.
+ Ensure proper material handling and inventory management, assisting in material movement and storage as needed.
+ Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
**Job Requirements:**
+ Previous experience operating rod mill machines, extruders, or similar machinery in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance tasks.
+ Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) safely and efficiently.
+ Willingness to work 12-hour shifts on both 1st and 3rd shifts.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
+ **Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift, and handle heavy materials.
+ Ability to work in hot, noisy, and industrial environments.
+ Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Hartselle,AL.
