**Job Title: Machine Operator**
**Job Description**
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating production machinery and hand tools to cut, fabricate, position, align, and assemble parts. This role requires reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, adjusting machine settings, and ensuring the timely production of high-quality parts and assemblies.
**Responsibilities**
+ Locate and mark workpiece bending and cutting lines, allowing for stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other component specifications.
+ Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
+ Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine task sequences.
+ Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances.
+ Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal.
+ Install, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures in rams or beds of machines using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.
+ Move parts into position manually or by using hoists or cranes.
+ Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
+ Operate Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) cutting equipment such as plasma, oxyfuel, laser, or water jet to perform profile cutting of aluminum and steel products.
+ Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusting machine controls or control media as required.
+ Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
+ Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
+ Perform duties in a safe manner and always wear required PPE.
+ Observe and comply with all the provisions of the ISO QMS.
**Essential Skills**
+ Machine operation
+ Mechanical aptitude
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Proficiency in operating production machinery and hand tools to cut, fabricate, position, align, and assemble parts
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
+ Experience operating CNC cutting equipment and other fabricating machines
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Vocational/technical training or a high school diploma with work experience in an industrial manufacturing or paint shop setting
+ Experience with quality management systems such as ISO 9001
+ Knowledge of safety and security procedures in a manufacturing environment

**Work Environment**
This is a manufacturing environment where safety is paramount. The role involves working with various machinery and tools, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The work hours may vary, and the environment is designed to support a productive and safe workflow.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerset, Pennsylvania.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
