**Job Title: Machine Operator**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator for our second shift. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing setting, a willingness to learn, and the ability to stand for an 8-hour shift. This position requires basic math skills and the ability to read, write, and understand English.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle
+ Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed)
+ Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
+ Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
+ Test operation of machines periodically
+ Fix issues that might occur during the shift
+ Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
+ Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
+ General production, extrusion, inspection
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift
+ Willingness to learn
+ Experience in a manufacturing setting
+ Ability to read, write, and understand English
+ Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)
+ 3-6 months of experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
+ Ability to read a ruler
+ Communication skills in English or Spanish
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ No education requirement
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
+ Forklift experience is a plus but not required

**Work Environment**
The work environment is in a polyethylene foam manufacturing facility. Employees work on the second shift from Monday to Thursday, 3 pm to 3 am, with overtime available on Fridays. The dress code includes jeans or shorts, a t-shirt, and work boots or sneakers. No open-toed shoes or tank tops are allowed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Amsterdam, New York
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.80/hr.
