Machine Operator
**Job Title: Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the internal movement of material between production and the warehouse, as well as the operation and monitoring of compounding lines in a safe and efficient manner according to procedures. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, punctual, and possess strong multitasking skills. **Responsibilities** + Follow and comply with all safety procedures. + Transfer product using pallet jacks and forklifts and manually load materials into the feed system. + Oversee and load/unload from the top and bottom of railcars. + Operate production equipment with the ability to independently set up the feed system, extruder, and auxiliary equipment. + Collect production records. + Monitor the status of the process, troubleshoot issues, and report details to the supervisor and QA staff. + Clean process equipment and facilities to maintain a clean work environment. + Inspect product in railcars. + Oversee and perform efficient clean-outs on production equipment for change-overs. + Oversee and perform specific equipment and facility improvement projects. + Understand and use basic math skills. + Contribute to the team by offering and helping implement improvements. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Forklift operation + Supervision + Warehouse operation + Inventory control + Troubleshooting + Quality assurance + Inspection reporting + Production + Machine operation + General production **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Shift: 6PM - 6AM Monday through Thursday + Minimum of two years’ experience in at least two of the following areas: Loss-In-Weight Feeders, Polymer Extrusion operation, Pneumatic Conveying operations, Rail Yard operations, Forklift operation. + Highly qualified candidates should possess a minimum of five years’ direct experience in at least two of the above areas. + Six Sigma certification is a plus. + Experience working in a Medical or Food Industry (CGMP) is a plus. + Familiarity with MES systems. + Quality Control testing involving polymers. + Basic Machine Maintenance Experience. **Why Work Here?** We are a stable and growing company offering room for growth and advancement. The temperature in the warehouse is manageable and not extreme. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
