**Job Title: Machine Operator**
**Job Description**
We are looking for dedicated machine operators to start and stop the concrete block machine. The role involves ensuring the blocks stay in line, performing daily cleaning, and changing programs.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate the concrete block machine.
+ Produce concrete products from raw materials to the Yard stage.
+ Inspect the quality of products according to prescribed standards such as height, color, shape, and corners.
+ Monitor the operation of the block machine, batcher, mixer, bucket, admix tank, conveyors, loader, unloader, depalleter, cuber, kilns, and other nearby equipment to detect and report malfunctions.
+ Maintain, adjust, and perform minor repairs on the block machine and associated equipment. Major repairs will be done by the maintenance team.
+ Maintain work area in an orderly and hazard-free condition.
+ Change molds as required.
+ Start up and shut down the block machine; keep written records of production; relieve other personnel for breaks; communicate changes in product size, color, and/or cubing patterns to the Cuber and Production List.
+ Perform preventative maintenance checklists daily and fill out maintenance request forms as needed.
**Essential Skills**
+ Prior machine operating experience.
+ Minimal troubleshooting experience.
+ Ability to perform labor duties.
+ Ability to stop the conveyor if any blocks fall out of line and straighten up the blocks.
+ Must have steel-toed boots.
+ Must be able to work in all weather conditions and work flexible hours as needed.
+ Reliable transportation and great attendance record.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with hand tools.
+ Experience in manufacturing and production environments.

**Work Environment**
This role is based in a dusty, dirty, and loud plant environment that manufactures stone pavers and landscaping blocks. The plant is relatively new, being only 6 years old. Employees will wear hard hats, ear plugs, and masks while working. The environment can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Candidates must be comfortable with working overtime. The shift is from 5:30 pm to 5:30 am, Monday to Friday.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Odenton, Maryland.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
