Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This position is mainly responsible for the safe and efficient operation of process equipment and packaging equipment from start-up to shut-down for processing and packaging of food resulting in safe quality food for human consumption. The mixing and cooking of candy recipes may also be a part of this job.

ResponsibilitiesChange programs/parameters in chocolate tempering machines, depositors, enrobers, and various machines related to processing and packaging food.Assemble pipes, pumps, and kettle parts to be used for cooking/mixing candy recipes and other equipment related to the depositing, coating, and forming of various candy products, often using common hand tools.Follow recipes to weigh ingredients, use equipment to mix and cook, and use instruments to measure temperature, viscosity, and brix.Use PPE for various tasks related to cooking and operating equipment.Run the machines (some old manual machines and some newer computer-controlled machines).Perform setups and changeovers based on daily production requirements.Essential Skills2+ years of machine operating experience.Experience in batching and food preparation.Ability to operate various types of machinery including manual and computer-controlled machines.Knowledge of fractions and ingredients lists.Experience is the setup and operation of food bagging machinery including mechanical troubleshooting and change overs. Work Environment

The work environment includes a temperature range from 67 to 85 degrees. The available shifts are 1st Shift (5:30am to 4:00pm) and 2nd Shift (4:30pm to 2:00am) with a $2.00 premium for the 2nd shift. This is a GMP-regulated facility producing chocolate-covered nuts, candies, and other products for various retailers.

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $45760.00/yr.
