Job Description

Our client is a manufacturer of food products and distributor of leading brands in North America. They are currently looking to hire for Machine Operators   

Location: Richmond Hill (Leslie & 16th Ave)
Shift: 7 AM to 3:30 PM and 3 PM to 11:30 PM available and should be flexible to work any shift as needed  
Pay Rate: $19.00-$21.00 per hour (DOE) plus benefits.

Temp to Perm after 3 months

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is set up, start up and the operation of Tetra Pak filling equipment. Includes caser/stacker area- ensuring case supply to caser equipment and conveyers are properly working. Also includes downstream equipment, such as straw applicator.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

Follow operation manual to operate machinery. Daily and weekly care of equipment. Check quality of products including materials and finished goods. Prepare all packaging materials for filler. Set up the filler according to the operation manual. Perform all testing/checks while setting up the machine. Communicate with pasteurizing area and start running the filler. Maintain quality control checks of codes, seals, and weights. Regular cleaning of associated work area and CIP equipment operated after production. Report mechanical failures and repair minor breakdowns. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

Education and Experience

Grade 12 education Mechanically inclined Working knowledge in food or dairy environment Forklift Licensed preferred Basic computer knowledge would be an asset Must be a person who can multi-task and enjoys working in a dynamic environment A high commitment level and a team player who works well with everyone Can easily assume additional responsibility as required Quick at assessing the facts and making a sound decision Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Similar experience an asset

Skills and Characteristics

Legally eligible to work in Canada. Basic computer knowledge would be an asset. Working knowledge in food or beverage environment. Analytical and detail oriented. Must be a person who can multi-task and enjoys working in a dynamic environment. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. A high commitment level and a team player who works well with others. Mechanically inclined. Can easily assume additional responsibility as required. Quick at assessing the facts and making a sound decision. Quickly able to grasp new tasks and concepts. Available to work all shifts (morning, afternoon, and night).
