**Machine Operator**
**Job Description**
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the first level of process machine operation, involving highly repetitive machine or process operations following prescribed routines. This role requires the ability to follow demonstrated steps and perform simple adjustments to produce to a general specification. The work typically involves operating machinery or equipment unique to the application and does not require formal training in a trade. Instructions will be provided on the job. The role may involve frequent handling of moderate to heavy materials and may include walking or standing most of the time.
**Responsibilities**
+ Understand and decipher part numbers.
+ Follow work instructions, drawings, established quality standards, and established safety protocols.
+ Meet defined production expectations for an inexperienced operator.
+ Learn to differentiate between different sizes of subcomponents and finished products, as well as their various types of compounds and finishes.
+ Learn how to load and unload subcomponents using material handling tools and equipment.
+ Inspect each subcomponent for proper materials, dimensions, and finishes to meet quality standards.
+ Perform accurate and timely computer transactions.
+ Coordinate delivery to ensure the production schedule is met.
+ Meet all company work schedule and attendance expectations, and perform within the physical and environmental demands of the job.
+ Run dispatch list.
+ Keep work area clean and organized.
+ Participate in process improvement events, as directed.
+ Perform required operator maintenance.
+ Assist with other functions within the department, as directed.
+ Assist other departments with various duties and projects, as directed.
+ Participate in required meetings.
+ Participate in physical inventories.
+ Perform safety audits.
+ Inspect and test completed products.
+ Carefully label parts with date, material type, size, part number, and/or job number.
+ Learn how to cut, bend, roll, or press to size and “kit” materials together for delivery to the appropriate production area.

+ Machine operating
+ Understanding machine parts and operations
+ Production equipment handling
+ Experience in a production environment
+ Familiarity with production processes
+ Ability to read blueprints
+ Mechanical aptitude
+ Experience with hand tools and tape measures
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to participate in process improvement events
+ Experience in performing operator maintenance
+ Ability to assist with various duties and projects in different departments
+ Participate in physical inventories and safety audits
+ Detail-oriented labeling of parts

**Work Environment**
You will be working in a large manufacturing shop with approximately 200 workers. The environment involves frequent handling of moderate to heavy materials and may include walking or standing most of the time.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $52000.00/yr.
