Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a spring coiling/wire coiling machine. You will ensure the machine is set up correctly, perform necessary adjustments, and carry out part checks to guarantee maximum throughput and product quality. Additionally, you will handle wire forming, wire filling, and wire processing for brazing operations. Your role will involve working collaboratively with a team to deliver quality rings to customers on time.

ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate one or more ring coiling machines according to blueprints and setup charts.Perform necessary machine adjustments and required part checks to ensure product quality.Conduct wire forming, wire filling, and wire processing of wire channel flux used for brazing.Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to monitor the quality of produced parts.Review setup cards to determine setup procedures and material specifications.Set up and adjust machines to produce rings that meet specifications.Control specified dimensions of parts and adjust machines for minor deviations.Maintain production speeds and select required machine attachments and tooling.Verify material specifications using micrometers or calipers; mount material on a reel stand and thread through feed rollers.Adjust machines to achieve specified tolerances.Complete first piece submissions by conducting trial runs and measuring samples for conformance.Maintain production and quality records as required.Recommend changes to specifications to resolve production problems when necessary.Notify the maintenance team of any machine breakdowns.Measure rings for conformance to specifications using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Essential SkillsExperience in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in machine operation and setup.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues.Mechanically inclined with general production experience.Familiarity with coil winding and blueprint reading.Experience with changeover processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.Experience in performing inspections and quality checks.Why Work Here?

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tinley Park, Illinois.

Shift Hours7:00am - 3:30pm Monday through Friday

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
