Job Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to support production processes in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures products meet quality specifications and production targets while maintaining compliance with safety standards and operational procedures. The Machine Operator reports to the Plant Operations Manager and works closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to troubleshoot issues and support continuous improvement efforts.
Essential Functions

Set up and operate CNC machines according to production schedules, technical drawings, and work instructions, ensuring proper machine calibration and tooling.Monitor machine performance during operation to identify and resolve equipment issues, ensuring product quality and minimizing unplanned downtime.Conduct product inspections using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify compliance with product specifications.Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of components to ensure proper functioning.Troubleshoot and adjust machine settings, tooling, and programming to maintain consistent quality and production output.Document and report production data, including material usage, quantities produced, machine performance, and any equipment malfunctions.Adhere to safety procedures and ensure compliance with quality standards, environmental regulations, and workplace safety guidelines.Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve complex equipment malfunctions and recommend process improvements.Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts to transport raw materials and finished products within the production area.Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S standards and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.Assemble and pack products from CNC machine to fulfill production orders.Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
(K) Knowledge of CNC machine operation, setup, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment, including basic understanding of G-code and M-code.(S) Proficiency using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure product quality.(A) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions with strong attention to detail.(S) Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude to identify and correct machine issues.(A) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team environment.(K) Familiarity with safety regulations, quality control processes, and lean manufacturing principles, including 5S standards.

Education and Experience
High School graduation or equivalent is required. Associate’s or bachelor degree is preferred. Combined experience in this type of job role of 3 or more years with education is desirable.Experience in manufacturing environment.
