Machine Operator
**Job Title: Machine Operator** **Job Description** Candidates will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and changing over food processing equipment to make pizzas. The toppings department operates high-speed lines, necessitating quick adaptability. Duties include setting up and monitoring equipment such as sauce applicators, topping applicators, packaging machinery, presses, box cartoners, mixers, filling machines, and ovens. The first shift sets up machinery while the second shift is responsible for tear down and cleaning. General laborers handle sanitation of machinery. Candidates will need to handle technical equipment, make adjustments, clear jams, and perform basic repairs using hand and power tools. Lifting up to 50 lbs. and conducting visual and quality inspections are required. GMP experience is necessary. **Responsibilities** + Set up, monitor, and change over food processing equipment to make pizzas. + Work within the toppings department, changing over machinery based on the size and scope of pizza orders. + Set up and monitor equipment on the line including sauce applicators, topping applicators, packaging machinery, presses, box cartoners, mixers, filling machines, and ovens. + Handle the sanitation of all machinery (done by general laborers). + Monitor and adjust film wrapping machines for temperature, speed, and changing out rolls. + Mix dough, operate filling machines, and manage the dough process from mixing to packaging. + Make adjustments and clear jams as needed. + Use hand and power tools for basic repairs. + Lift up to 50 lbs. + Conduct visual and quality inspections. + Adhere to GMP standards. **Essential Skills** + Experience working within a foods GMP environment. + Machine operating experience, including making adjustments and clearing jams. + Experience with baggers, wrappers, films, cartoners, mixers, and fillers. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + GMP experience + Bilingual **Why Work Here?** We offer competitive benefits and a 401k program. The facility is very clean, organized, and smells like pizza. There are around 100 people on each shift, distinguished by helmet color. The workweek is Monday to Saturday, with mandatory Saturdays if scheduled. Safety shoes (slip-resistant) are required from day one. Work activities include packing, stacking cases, sweeping work area, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and loading ingredients on equipment. Flexibility to work in other areas as needed is required. Candidates must wear smocks, hair nets, beard nets, hearing protection, hard hats, safety glasses, and non-slip shoes. Jewelry is not allowed. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.50/hr.
