**Job Title: Machine Operator**
**Job Description**
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating various machines, including but not limited to band saws and handheld grinders. You will set up and operate machines, read prints, and cut materials according to specified dimensions. Your role will also involve assisting with other machinery, working with different gauges of sheet metal to meet customer demands, and performing inspections of machined parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate various machines, including band saws and handheld grinders
+ Set up and operate machines
+ Read prints and cut materials according to specified dimensions
+ Assist with other machinery as needed
+ Work with different gauges of sheet metal to meet customer demands
+ Work directly from blueprints
+ Perform inspections of machined parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
**Essential Skills**
+ Machine operating experience
+ Experience in heavy manufacturing and metals
+ Proficiency in blueprint reading
+ Strong writing, reading, and communication skills for following work instructions, SOPs, writing reports, and communicating issues with the production and management team
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ No high school diploma or GED required

**Work Environment**
This is a first shift position, working from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. After the probationary period, the start time will be closer to 9:00 a.m. The work environment is in a heavy manufacturing setting, working with metal materials and operating various machines. You will be trained on the first shift from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. initially.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MELROSE PARK, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
