Job Description:

Location: Westfield, Massachusetts

CoWorx Staffing Services is seeking Machine Operators on 3rd shift for our client located in the Westfield, MA area.
Hours are Sunday-Thursday 11pm-7am.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

1. PERFORM SET-UPS
Set-up and and adjust multiple bag machines to manufacture product from start (roll of paper) to finished product (sealed bag made to specific size tolerance).
Perform all of the set-ups to include, but not limited to:
Change all gears, nip roll and or pad to specific tube length required.
Fabricate new rotary knife blade to optimum size and angles. Set knife speed indicator.
Adjust draw rollers, nip roll and guide rolls.
Cut new bottom seam paste bar to specific width and install.
Select specific printing cylinders and install into printing press.
Mount printing plates.

2. PREPARES EQUIPMENT
Prepares all necessary equipment (gears, formers, rolls, knives, blades, plates) in advance of new work order so that machine downtime is kept to a minimum.

3. ORGANIZES WORK AREA
Organizes work area in a clean and efficient manner to perform processes according to established standards, productivity levels, housekeeping, and safety requirements.

4. INVENTORY CONTROL
Orders and maintains inventory control of inks, glues, solvents and other raw materials as required.

5. MECHANICAL OPERATIONS
Informs supervisor of operating deviations or mechanical problems when they occur. Proposes machine modifications/ upgrades to improve productivity and quality and assists in operator maintenance & troubleshooting as required.

Desired Background/Skills:

• Previous Machine Operation/Tending experience required
