Machine Operator - Bakery
**Job Title: Machine Operator - Bakery** **Job Description** Candidates will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and changing over food processing equipment to make pizzas. In the bakery department, candidates will primarily operate mixing machines, filling machines, and baggers. Tasks include switching between operating a mixer, filler, and grinding machine, working in teams of 3-4. **Responsibilities** + Operate mixing machines, filling machines, and baggers. + Set up and monitor equipment on the line, including mixers, fillers, ovens, presses, baggers, and cartoners. + Scoop cauliflower into a grinding machine and mix with other materials to make dough. + Change and monitor speed (Fill Time), temperature, smart scale weights, and vibration before each order. + Read and interpret batch tickets to make dough. + Weigh ingredients and add specific amounts of raw materials and starches to each batch. + Operate a tumbler to mix materials with specific starches, flour, egg, etc. (2-3 days a week). + Monitor temperatures, speed, durations, change out rolls, wipe down machinery, and clear jams. + Perform basic repairs using hand and power tools. + Lift up to 50 lbs. + Conduct visual and quality inspections. + Ensure general laborers handle the sanitation of all machinery. **Essential Skills** + Experience working within a food GMP environment. + Machine operating experience, including making adjustments and clearing jams. + Experience with baggers, wrappers, films, cartoners, mixers, and fillers. + GMP experience. + Mixing and filling experience. + Lead machine operator or supervisor experience. + Troubleshooting skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Bilingual skills (nice to have). **Why Work Here?** We offer competitive benefits and a 401k program. The facility is set up into toppings on one side with four lines (colder environment) and the bakery side with nine lines (warmer environment). The ambient temperatures in the production areas range between 40°F and 45°F. There are around 100 people on each shift, all delegated by a helmet color. It is a very clean and organized environment that smells like pizza. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and wear safety shoes (slip-resistant) from day one. Work activities include packing, stacking cases, sweeping work areas, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), loading ingredients on equipment, etc. All positions require the flexibility to work in other areas as needed or assigned by Lead/Supervisor or Manager. Candidates must wear smocks, a hair net, beard net, hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, and non-slip shoes. No jewelry is allowed. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
