Machine Operator Helper
**Job Title: Machine Operator Helper** **Job Description** Candidates will be working in a facility that manufactures stainless steel tubing. They will begin in a less technical area of the process, but if they demonstrate initiative and aptitude, they will be moved to more technical areas to learn the machines. The different areas include ovens, straighteners, and saws. The role involves assisting and learning the operation of these machines and performing manual labor throughout the process. This is a labor-intensive job that requires being on your feet all day. Candidates will need to move, shove, push, and pull tubing to ensure the machines are set up correctly. Depending on the area, they will receive a bundle of product with a work order attached, which will describe the required tasks. Upon completing the task, candidates will input all the information into the computer system for the next step. **Responsibilities** + Assist in the operation of ovens, straighteners, and saws. + Perform manual labor throughout the manufacturing process. + Move, shove, push, and pull tubing to set up machines correctly. + Receive product bundles with attached work orders and follow instructions. + Input task completion data into the computer system. + Work on your feet all day and lift up to 50 lbs. **Essential Skills** + At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing role. + Ability to understand work orders and manufacturing processes. + Experience as a machine operator, assembly, or production worker. + Mechanical manufacturing experience. + Ability to explain work experience and machine operation in detail. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with micrometers or calipers is a plus. + Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet all day. **Why Work Here?** This position offers the opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The work schedule offers flexibility with a standard 40-hour workweek and occasional overtime. **Work Environment** This role is based in a very large, non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility. The environment can be loud or hot depending on the area you are working in. The first shift operates from 4am to 2:30pm, and the second shift operates from 2pm to 12:30am, Monday through Thursday, with occasional overtime on Fridays. The second shift will train on the first shift for approximately one month. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
