Machine Operator I
**Job Title: Machine Operator I** **Job Description** We are seeking an SMT Operator who will tend to the operation of production machines such as SMT Pick and Place, Through Hole Component Insertion, Sequencing Machine, Wave Flow and Reflow Solder Machines. The candidate will also assist in other areas as needed. **Responsibilities** + Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. + Set up machinery according to documented specifications. + Run product through machine with quality and efficiency. + Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects and/or machine malfunctions. + Correct defects when possible or route defective material for rework or repair. + Perform minor machine maintenance as per documented instructions. + Practice and participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean activities, supporting change and identifying ways to improve processes and efficiency. + Actively participate in work group/team activities as an enthusiastic, positive and dependable team member. + Maintain a clean and safe work area and environment. + Provide input to the problem-solving process and possess good communication skills. + Work performed in this job can only be done on-site and attendance is an essential function of the job. + Achieve a passing score on the Component Identification course. + Achieve a passing score on the IPC Workmanship standards exam. **Essential Skills** + Prior machine operating or SMT experience in a production setting. + Ability to perform basic data entry transactions. + Knowledge of SMT Operator, soldering, PCB, and Sequencing Machines. + Experience with Wave Flow, Machine operation, Assembly, and Hand tools. + Must be pass through ITAR compliance. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with ESD contract electronics manufacturing. **Why Work Here?** We offer a medium-sized company environment with a very open family feel. Employees must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canby, Oregon. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
