The position will provide perform subsets of mixing, pelleting, extrusion, process routing, grinding and as-needed packaging responsibilities within the Standard Diet facility.
Responsibilities Mix ingredients to established standard diet formulations utilizing ingredient handling and mixing equipmentPellet standard diets utilizing pelleting process equipment; pellet mill, pellet dryer cooler, associated product conveyance equipmentExtrude standard diets utilizing extrusion process equipment, extruder, extrusion dryer, associated product conveyance equipmentOperate either of two diet and ingredient grinding systems including routing and conveyance equipmentPerform and document in-process quality control measurements including but not limited to diet moisture and temperature, product durability, product density and finished product dimension and weight compliant with established quality systemComplete and maintain production related documentation compliant with established quality systemComplete and document in-process preventative maintenance that includes but is not limited to equipment lubrication and equipment cleaning to ensure compliance with established quality systemAttain and maintain knowledge and ability to perform packaging responsibilities – function in a backup capacityParticipate in training of new employees once achieving a measured level IV competent machine operator IParticipate in process improvement initiativesAttend and comprehend all employee health & safety training to ensure that workplace behavior and conduct is compliant with workplace expectationsOther duties as assigned by managementOvertime as needed including alternate shifts and/or weekendsThis role involves working at elevated locations, such as ladders and elevators. Candidates should be comfortable with heights and not experience significant fear or discomfort in such situations Qualifications Qualifications and Education RequirementsHigh School education or equivalencyEnglish communication – written, reading and oralIndustry experience a plusAbility to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishPreferred SkillsNeat and legible handwritingDeveloped and accurate basic math ability – addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisionAbility to follow detailed instructions accuratelyAbility to accurately transpose written and printed information to quality record documentsAbility to work in a standing position for periods of time up to 6.0 hoursAbility to climb and descend stairs and vertical laddersPerform repetitive tasksMicrosoft Office Suite – user skillsAdditional RequirementsPhysical mobility within facilityAbility to lift 55 lb. objects from floor to shoulder heightAptitude to comprehend solid and liquid process flow within a manufacturing environment
*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
