Job Description

Machine Operator II - 12 Hour Shifts (2-2-3 pattern)

Injection Molding Department

Amcor Rigid Packaging

Allentown, PA

Job Summary: Responsible for the safe and effective operation of injection molding machines.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: 

Ensure the equipment is always in good and safe condition and maintained clean .Abides by all Amcor’s Safety and Quality policies and procedures including performing scheduled quality checks on products.Report any mechanical or quality issues to the Lead or Supervisor.Knows and practices safe and proper start-up and shutdown procedures for each machine.Makes necessary machine adjustments involving hand movements and simple hand tools to maintain consistent machine operation and product quality in terms of customer specifications.Complete all required paperwork both paper and electronic.Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalentMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Physical Requirements: This is a medium physical demand job

Lift / push / pull up to 100 pounds using a hydraulic hand jack (this is the equivalent of a static push / pull of approximately 60 pounds).Employees are required to stand / walk for working hours of shiftsEmployees are required to bend; turn / twist; kneel; squat; crawl; climb; reach out and up; turn wrist; grasp; pinch; and have finger manipulations.Required Safety Equipment: Employees are required to continuously wear hearing, hand, head, and eye protection, as well as protective clothing including protected toe shoes when outside of office areas.
