Position Overview
The Machine Operator II is a mid-level position responsible for the operation of both conventional and CNC machines to produce precise components. The role requires increased proficiency in operating various machines, performing in-process inspections, and troubleshooting minor machine issues. Individuals in this role are expected to work more independently and contribute to production targets.
Key Responsibilities
Independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC and manual machines.
Load/unload parts to maximize machine efficiency.
Perform in-depth inspections of machined parts using a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
Detect and resolve minor machine malfunctions and tooling issues.
Assist in training less experienced machine operators.
Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes.
Maintain accurate records of part inspections and machine operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; vocational/technical certification preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a machinist in a production environment.
Understanding of precision measuring tools.
Strong understanding of manufacturing prints and GD&T quality specifications.
Skills & Requirements:
Proficiency in operating CNC and manual machining equipment.
Strong understanding of machining processes and materials.
Ability to perform accurate part inspections and detect machine issues.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 30lbs and work with tools and machinery safely.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range: $22.00-$28.00/hour
