Machine Operator Material Handler
Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and productive operation of various machines that deal with plastic. Here are some responsibilities of this machine operator:

Set up, run, shut down, troubleshoot, clean the system, and perform general maintenance of machines.Take regular and proper samples from production runs and report inequities to lab personnel and supervisor.Documentation throughout the production process.Maintain and properly complete logs for production ledgers (inbound, outbound, rejects, and run) and quality control.Compute weights, competently using correct gross, tare, and net figures.Weigh material in boxes and hoppers. Correctly record weights in appropriate places.Utilize a propane sit-down forklift, pallet jack, and aerial lift as needed.Prepare boxes for material by placing labels in proper locations and/or removing extra labels.Required Skills1 year minimum of Machine Operating ExperienceComfortable with performing addition, subtraction, and calculating percentagesSit down forklift experienceAbility to stand for the duration of the shift outside of breaksAbility to lift up to 65 lbs, not repetitivelyComfortable with heights (up to 25 feet with a harness)Steel-toed or composite-toed shoesAvailable Shift & Pay1st shift: 7:30am – 4:00pm, Monday – Friday // $193rd shift: 11:30pm – 8:00am, Sunday (night) – Thursday (night) // $19

Work EnvironmentTraditional manufacturing environment, with machines that perform a variety of tasks to receive and separate plastics materials. The systems are large, with some machines being two stories high. The plant environment includes some dust and noise, so hearing and eye protection is required. Employees must be willing to climb stairs to access upper parts of systems or use an aerial lift to troubleshoot and fix jams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of the Park 100 area in Indianapolis, Indiana

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
