Job Description
Avery Dennison is hiring Machine Operators for two shifts. We offer a starting pay of $19 per hour, with health and wellness benefits beginning on your first day. Available shifts include:
+ 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM (plus a $2/hour differential)
+ 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (plus a $2/hour differential)
The Machine Operator will play a crucial role in our operations by managing the process of pulling parts out of molds after they have been heated in the oven and cooled appropriately. This position requires keen attention to detail and good manufacturing practices to ensure that all products meet our high-quality standards. In this role, the operator will be responsible for several key tasks, including pouring powder into molds, securing the molds to the machine arm, and clamping the molds together before initiating the heating cycle. Daily responsibilities will include maintaining cleanliness in the work area, identifying and addressing any quality issues, and ensuring that the molds used in production match the specifications listed in our computer system.
What You’ll Do
+ Mold Operation: Load, unload, and maintain molds, ensuring proper cleaning and trimming for high-quality output.
+ Slitting & Winding: Set up and operate slitting machines and winding equipment to produce precise bands.
+ Spraying & Painting: Adjust mold sprayers, perform paint prep, and ensure proper application and drying.
+ Quality Control: Perform inspections, make adjustments, and ensure compliance with specifications.
+ Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect tools, molds, and machines, reporting any repairs needed.
+ Process Improvement: Support team training, Kaizen initiatives, and waste reduction efforts.
+ Safety & Compliance: Follow PPE guidelines and handle cleaning solvents per company standards.
Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required.
+ 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Tolerate contact with various solvents and related fumes.
+ Demonstrated ability to interpret specifications, guidelines and instructions.
+ Possess good communication skills and work as a member of a team.
+ Successfully complete and pass the Hazardous Material Information Systems (HMIS) training.
+ Learn how to use various measuring devices.
+ Able to continuously stand, reach, pull and push.
+ Good vision is important.
+ Regularly lift 50 lbs. and slide molds on conveyor lines weighing up to 120 lbs

Physical Requirements:
+ Movement: May require the ability to stand/walk for up to 80% of your shift, with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and squatting 50% of the time.
+ Lifting: May require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds for up to 50% of your shift.
+ Environment: May require being comfortable working in an environment with varying temperatures and humidity.
